Violaine Ulmer is a visual artist who also creates jewellery and small porcelain objects, mostly one-off pieces.

Her approach is based on the idea that ‘ceramic jewellery’ is a speciality in its own right within the wider field of contemporary ceramics.

Her work is essentially based on research into form and material. Her pieces can be highly architectural or, on the contrary, telluric.

She sees ceramic jewellery as a portable ceramic sculpture.
